Are you a student whose pocket money is not sufficient to meet his needs? Or an unemployed individual who is just busy dropping his CV for every vacant position he comes to know about?
Or an employee who just got fired and looking for a new job? Or an idle housewife who has nothing to do other than gossiping and watching soap operas? If yes, then you are just about to find the solution for all your worries! The right option for you to choose is indeed FREELANCING!
Rather than working on a regular basis and getting salary or wage, as a Freelancer you provide your services as a consultant at a fixed price or an hourly rate. You don’t have to face the struggle of holding a degree to get the job. All you need to have is the skill that you can monetize fairly with the passage of time.

Becoming a freelancer doesn’t involve any rocket science, you just need to act on the steps stated below.
The first thing you need to work on is to identify your skill i.e., The skill which you will monetize. The thing that is your cup of tea. It can be something about which you have the know-how of doing.
There are numerous options on the online portals where freelancers offer their services. This skill selection needs a lot of thinking before chosen. You may want to pursue as a writer, a virtual assistant, a finance consultant, a graphic designer and the list goes on.
The second thing after the skill selection is to have a freelance profile on any online portal. This is the most crucial thing to do. You can also work for local freelancer and earn, but the rate of working with the local freelancers will be lesser than that of the online portal. It will not be effective. The most prestigious and reliable Freelancing portals are Upwork and Fiverr. These are the most recommended for both the beginners and experts.

Once the profile you made is reviewed by the freelance portal, you would be ready to apply for jobs. To have a better understanding of bidding/applying at jobs, I will give you an overview of how it works on Upwork, specifically.
On Upwork, the freelancer bids on the different jobs posted by the clients from all around the world. You have to select your category first. For example, if you have chosen, writing as your field, you would have writing as the main category and Article writing, Blog writing, Creative writing etc as the sub-categories.
By marking your category in your specific field, the related jobs will start appearing in your Job Feed. There, you look for the job that is most suitable for you and then apply for it by submitting a proposal, which includes the cover letter, approach and an hourly or fixed rate.
After submitting a proposal (cover letter), the main task is almost done. Now you wait for the client’s response. Getting a client’s response actually depends on when have you applied after the job posting by the client and how effectively you had written your cover letter. When you receive a response, you set your terms and job requirements with the client. And once the terms are set, You are all ready to start working as a freelancer and make money.
Yeah! Creating a profile is a one time process, but means a lot.
