Have you ever wondered to throw the Poké Ball, and capture the Pokémon in it just the way Ash always did? Yeah? Yeah… That’s what everyone thought with excitement, sitting in front of the television watching the Pokémon series. And today, the idea has turned into a reality. For you Pokémon Go has been designed to catch the Pokémon and live your childhood dream today.
Pokémon Go is a location-based live direct or indirect smartphone game which is being played by millions of Pokémon enthusiasts all around the world. The game uses the GPS and camera of the mobile phone to develop an augmented reality in which the player can chase and capture Pokémons throwing Poké Ball at them, by using the right force at the right time when the Pokémon is detected by the device.
The main goal of the saga is to complete the Pokémon encyclopedia i.e., the Pokédex and find all the 151 Pokémons to fill the slots of the Pokédex. So when the game begins, the player at first draws his character to be displayed in the game play. When it’s ready, he sets off for the chase by turning on the GPS. The player may choose to have the AR mode or generic view activated based on his choice.
The player explores the map and may encounter different types of Pokémon ranging from air and water to electric and rock-type Pokémons. The map has different Pokéstops and Pokémon gyms and the player is rewarded with candies and stardust when a Pokémon is captured. These candies and stardust are used to increase the combat power of Pokémons. The game doesn’t support battling the Pokémon while capturing, however, the players trains the Pokémon for gym battles as well as may evolve them to higher levels by using candies. While playing Pokémon Go, the player earns experience points and moves to upper levels.
If the player doesn’t have a mobile device, he can use the Pokémon Go Plus to capture a Pokémon. Sometimes it’s a catch and sometimes a miss. Pokémon Go Plus is a bluetooth device which vibrates if there is a Pokémon present in that the region. Even though the player cant see the whether the Pokémon is captured or not, the device often comes in handy. When connected with a smartphone device, the catch can be confirmed.
The game obviously has a plot similar to that of the cartoon series and contains the same level of excitement and zest. This can be reckoned by the fact that Pokémon Go has already exceeded the records established by the game played in everywhere the 8 continents, The Candy Crush Saga, cherry on top the numbers are still counting.
The game is developed by Niantic and The Pokémon Company. The Pokémon Company itself published the game. However, Niantic was not the first one to come up with the idea of the game. The idea was coined by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company in 2014 as The Pokémon Challenge. This is the reason that The game developer from The Pokémon Company dedicated the game to Nintendo’s developer, Iwata.
The concept of the augmented reality was adapted from Niantic’s “Ingress”, a reality game. The first release took place on July 6, 2016 in US, New Zealand and Australia followed by releases in other parts of the world. The game has not been released yet in South Korea and other Asian countries. The game is playable both on iOS and android platforms as well as it supports both single and multiplayer mode.

The Big Time favorite cartoon series Pokémon has been incorporated into many video games since its inception and popularity. But Pokémon Go has been the one to really quench the thirst to capture, train and battle Pokémons. Have you had your Pokémons caught? No? Now is your chance so go for it!
